Villa del Principe is the most charming noble residence in Genoa. Once the home of Andrea Doria, the only Genoese prince, today it is home to one of the city’s most important museums. Villa del Principe continues its illustrious tradition of hosting events, wedding receptions, and parties, allowing you to experience the atmosphere of a historic location with its splendid Italian garden and its rooms still decorated with immensely valuable works of art. All around the building were gardens that reached the sea on one side and the hill on the other. In the center stands the magnificent fountain of Neptune symbolizing Admiral Doria, still visible today; on the current back of the villa, however, the missing statue of Jupiter, allegory of Emperor Charles V, to whom Andrea owed his appointment as prince.

Belonging over the centuries to some of the most important families of the Genoese nobility, the historic residence from the 16th century boasts numerous seventeenth-century frescoes and perfectly preserved neoclassical decorations: 10 elegant rooms on two floors, richly painted by various prestigious artists like Domenico Piola. The noble floor of the villa can accommodate up to 260 seated people, who can admire the city of Genoa thanks to the balcony along the entire facade: the ground floor overlooks the garden and can accommodate about 200 guests, which can increase to 400 by using the elegant gazebo adjacent to the villa.
